Refund Policy

Last updated: October 7, 2026 · Darkeye Industries LLC

This policy explains when payments made to Have I Been Ransomed? (“HIBR”, “we”, “us”) can be refunded. By subscribing to any paid plan or add-on you agree to it. As a general rule, all payments are final and non-refundable, except in the specific cases listed in section 3.

1. Cancelling Your Subscription

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation stops future renewals: you keep full access to your plan until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again. When that period ends, your account returns to the free tier.

Cancelling does not generate a refund, full or partial, for the remaining time of the current billing period, whether monthly or yearly.

2. Cases That Are Not Refundable

We do not issue refunds for mistakes or circumstances on the customer’s side, including but not limited to:

  • Subscribing by mistake, or choosing the wrong plan, add-on or billing interval (monthly / yearly).
  • Forgetting to cancel before an automatic renewal.
  • Not using the service, or using it less than expected, during a paid period.
  • Features, limits or data that do not meet your expectations when they work as described on our Pricing page.
  • Problems caused by your own systems, network, integration code or API keys, or by exceeding the limits of your plan.
  • Account suspension caused by a breach of our Terms of Use.

3. When You Are Entitled to a Refund

A refund will only be considered when the failure is on our side, in one of these cases:

  • Service not as described. A feature, limit or condition described on our Pricing page for your plan is not provided, or is provided incorrectly.
  • Extended outage. The service is unavailable for more than 72 consecutive hours.
  • API failures. Outages or failures of our API that prevent the service from working correctly.

Each request is reviewed against our service records. If it is approved, the refund is issued to the original payment method.

4. How to Request a Refund

Email [email protected] from the address linked to your account and include:

  • The email of your HIBR account and the invoice concerned.
  • Which of the cases in section 3 applies, with the dates and, where possible, the requests or error responses affected.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The version published on this page at the moment of your payment is the one that applies to it.
